Kit Assembly  

Kit assembly is an all-enveloping term relating to any item where most of the pieces for the finished model are included in one box. TMB Custom Models offers kit assembly services for any locomotive, rolling stock, structure, vehicle, ship, or aircraft kit. We will either assemble and decorate any kit to the manufacturers suggested specifications or match to your detailed instructions.

Any type of kit can be assembled, detailed and painted. We specialize in assembling resin kits from Westerfield, Funaro & Camerlengo, and Sunshine. We also work on the Custom Finishing line of Maintenance of Way equipment for the model railroad enthusiast. Please see our gallery page for examples of these cars.

We also work on projects in other scales including 1/72 & 1/48 aircraft, 1/35 armor & both plastic and wooden ships and more. We can add that level of detail that will really make your models stand out, from the latest photo-etched details to adding spark plug wires and flocking to 1/24 scale auto models.

If your model railroading subject requires upgrades (trucks, wheels, couplers, additional weight) we will add those items in at your request. Unless otherwise specified we weight all models to meet NMRA specifications for optimum performance. We also check coupler height, and will make adjustments as required (shimming trucks, lowers coupler boxes, etc.). And, of course if the kit needs painting you can be assured in knowing the level of care and detail we give to our paint jobs. When you receive the completed model you will be able to place it on your layout and use it right away!
